What’s your favorite finish for general wood projects?
My favorite finishing products for Christmas toys is Bulls Eye Seal Coat Universal Sanding Sealer 100% wax free then coated with Minwax Water Born Polycrylic clear gloss. All sprayed with HVLP
I really like OSMO Polyx-Oil High Solids. A little bit goes a long way.
Karl, how is it applied? Does it take long to dry? How many coats are needed? Thanks.
I like Bush's finish. Just two quick coats 30 minutes apart and dry the next day.
My favorite is a coat of shellac followed by General finishes armor seal, usually the semi gloss.
Does anyone have experience using Bowling Alley Wax as a finish? Considering its use, it must be durable -- plus it's easy to apply and dries in a half hour or so.
My question is: is it food safe? I plan to use it on a kitchen island. That island isn't used as a cutting board, but food may come in contact with the island. (I've read that any finish is food safe once it cures.)
